Blood and Sea

Art by: Exileden

"Bloody sharks are only the myth that people created to easy believe in.

Actually, it’s the human who cause a lot of the blood for sharks and tears for the ocean.

They are widely killed and hurt by people, yet they play extremely important role in the oceanic ecosystem as apex predators and "blood cells". The risk of extinction of prey sea critters is slowly killing the ocean and we must not forget that our fate with the ocean is tied together.

What is the reason for shark killing? Usually is dumb: for sports and sometimes culinary specialities, leaving them in extreme pain. Stupid tourism is also the reason of demonization, effected by trigger of uneducated behaviour.

Also very important note: if you want to experience wild animals with good intentions, you should learn about them and their environment first before encountering them. Even better is to spend months in volunteering projects to make actual impact and build INTEREST with the animals first, their behaviour than “one-time-cool-experience” - at their cost especially.

When you get experiences of wild animals in “reach” (only you have to pay) - please avoid that, it can cause a lot of arm and make only worse.

Not too long time ago I feared sharks. The more I spend time in oceans as sailor, the more I feel curious and engaged in marinelife environment and habitats.

The sharks are just like wolves.

Respect them, not fear. Keep distance. And respect by not touching them - this picture is meant to be symbiosis of respecting them. How you we can give a helping hand?"
